Welcome Information

« Far from the Madding Crowd »

Enjoy a sunny escape to the Casa Aloes bordering the Quinta das Mil Flores, a 5 acre property surrounded by pine woods and orchards, on the edge of the little hamlet of Sobreiro in the hills above the 16th century village of Pedrogão Grande. The Casa offers a pleasant balance between calm seclusion and now, an even greater accessibility due to the opening of the new motorway A13 between Coimbra and Tomar. (Exit Avelar at 25 km/15 miles from Sobreiro)

In the Leiria region of central Portugal, the Quinta is 1hr40 minutes by car northeast of Lisbon and 1hr40 minutes southeast of Porto (45 minutes southeast of Coimbra). As the Quinta is in the nearly exact geographical center of Portugal, Pombal and Sertã are nearby, and it is an easy drive to visit historical sites such as Alcobaça, Batalha, Óbidos, Buçaco, Tomar, the Sanctuary Cathedral of Fatima and Nazaré village a now famous mecca for surfers.
